Unter dem Motto „Willkommen in Soest“ findet am 28. September in der Stadthalle Soest die zentrale Begrüßungs- und Infoveranstaltung für alle Erstsemester statt, die zum Wintersemester 2026/27 ihr Studium an der Fachhochschule Südwestfalen in Soest aufnehmen.

Der Rektor der FH Südwestfalen, Prof. Dr. Dr. Alexander Prange, heißt gemeinsam mit dem Bürgermeister der Stadt Soest, Marcus Schiffer, die neuen Studierenden willkommen.

Lernen Sie hier wichtige Ansprechpartner*innen sowie Beratungs- und Anlaufstellen der FH Südwestfalen kennen. Unter anderem stellen sich der AStA, das Studierendencoaching, das Familienbüro, das International Office und die Fachschaften der Soester Fachbereiche vor.

Sie haben Fragen zur Studienfinanzierung, interessieren sich für ein Austauschsemester oder möchten Gleichgesinnte für Spiel- und Sportangebote kennenlernen? Dann sind Sie hier genau richtig. Bei der Veranstaltung können Sie erste Kontakte knüpfen und erhalten wichtige Informationen für Ihren Studienstart.

Neben einem Überblick über die Angebote der Hochschule erhalten Sie auch Einblicke in die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten, welche die Stadt Soest als Studienort bietet.

Welcome Event for First-Year Students 2026

Under the motto “Welcome to Soest”, the central welcome and information event for all first-year students will take place at Stadthalle Soest on 28 September. The event is for all students starting their studies at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, Soest campus, in the winter semester 2026/27.

The Rector of the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Dr. Alexander Prange, together with the Mayor of the City of Soest, Marcus Schiffer, will welcome the new students.

Get to know important contacts as well as advisory and support services at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences. Representatives from the General Students’ Committee (AStA), Student Coaching Services, the Family Support Centre, the International Office and the student councils of the Soest faculties will be there to introduce themselves and their services.

Do you have questions about financing your studies? Are you interested in spending a semester abroad? Or would you like to meet other students for sports and recreational activities? Then you’ve come to the right place. The event is a great opportunity to make your first connections and get important information to help you get off to a good start with your studies.

In addition to an overview of the university’s services and activities, you will also get an insight into the many opportunities that Soest has to offer as a place to study.
