Why study in Meschede?

Meschede is located in South Westphalia. The region is not only the namesake for the University of Applied Sciences, but is also one of the strongest industrial regions in Germany. South Westphalian companies operate in market segments in which they are often even world market leaders. Good contacts of our lecturers beyond the South Westphalian economy are success factors for a degree programme with strong practical relevance and high relevance for the labour market. Bright and friendly buildings, modern equipment and the numerous laboratories enable practical learning. The good transport connections – both by public transport and by car – and the numerous parking spaces round off the university's exemplary offer. The university town of Meschede provides low rents and also the wide range of excursion and sports opportunities at Lake Hennesee and in the surrounding Sauerland.

Ankerpunkt

What career prospects does International Management offer?

With the in-depth degree in International Management, you have the best chances of being hired by middle management at industrial and service companies, both in South Westphalia and throughout Germany and worldwide. With your degree, you are particularly interesting for German companies whose activities also extend abroad (e.g. their own branches or cooperations).

At the Meschede site, we work intensively with companies, both on research projects and on theses. Many graduates have a permanent job offer before they leave the university.

How is the course structured?

You will receive a practice-oriented basic education in the field of economics in order to successfully enter management at both large and small companies: Our curriculum includes specialist knowledge, teamwork, practical experience as well as presentation and communication training.

The first two semesters each consist of five compulsory modules from the field of economics. This lays the most important foundations. In the 3rd semester, 3 further basic subjects follow and the first compulsory elective module can be chosen. As the semester progresses, the number of compulsory elective modules increases – so that the profile can be sharpened individually.
In the 5th semester, an internship abroad is scheduled for all students who have enrolled from German-speaking countries. All other students can also complete the internship in Germany.
A total of 7 compulsory elective modules are completed, 4 of which must be from the field of economics and 3 others can be chosen across departments, e.g. enter the fields of engineering or business psychology.
The Bachelor's thesis (including the final oral examination) is written in the 6th semester.
