Information for:

Exchange students of other cooperating universities

If you are a student at one of South Westphalia UAS partner institutions and you would like to spend your semester abroad with us you have three options:

  • You can either enrol in one of our degree programs for one or two semesters or
  • you can do a practical training/internship in one of our laboratories.
  • You can also work for and on your final thesis that you have to hand in at your home university, also in combination with a practical training.

Please get in touch with the International Office at your home university first and present your plans. Your International Office will then contact the International Office of the South Westphalia UAS in order to arrange the next steps.

Free Mover Students

Even if your home university is not a partner institution of South Westphalia UAS, you may be able to study up to two semesters here as a so-called free mover student. If you are interested in doing so, please contact our International Office (incoming@fh-swf.de). Be aware, that you will have to provide official proof you have sufficient financial means to do so. As of January 1, 2025 you will need at least 992€ per month to be able to get a study visa for Germany.
