Application periods for Bachelor's degree courses
For German applicants
and applicants with equal status to Germans:
Application deadline: Mid-May to July 31st
You are considered equal to German citizens if you meet one of the requirements listed
Please note: The application deadlines for individual bachelor's degree programmes have been extended.
For applicants from non-EU countries
Only for applicants from non-EU countries:
1st March to 15th July every year
Application Period for the Winter Semester: from 1 March to 15 July (Non-EU students) or from Mid-May to 31 July (EU students).
For summer semester
- Bachelor`s degree courses: Only applications for higher semesters are possible.

Application periods for degree courses with admission restriction, so-called NC course
Only for German applicants and applicants with equal status to Germans:
In winter semester 2025/26 there will be no degree courses with admission restriction at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences.
Application for Master's degree coursesMaster's degree courses
The application periods for our Master's degree courses sometimes differ for Germans and applicants with equal status. The specific deadlines can be found on the respective degree programme pages.
Applicants from non-EU countries can usually apply Master's degree courses from the beginning of November to 15 January each year (for summer semester) and from the beginning of March to 15 July each year (for winter semester).
Exceptions are the study programmes Advanced Engineering and Engineering Management M.Sc and Informatics and Business M.Sc. and International Management & Information Systems M.A. and International Management and Information Systems – Online M.A.

Advanced Engineering and Engineering Management M.Sc.
Note: The deadline for Non-EU students has been extended to 30 June!
Application for Winter Semester: Mid-November to 15 May (Non-EU students) or Mid-May to 30 June (EU students). Application for Summer Semester: Mid-May to 15 November (Non-EU students) or Beginning of December to 31 January (EU students).

Informatics and Business M.Sc.
- 1 March to 1 June (Non-EU students) or
- 1 May to 1 September (EU students).
- 1 August to 1 December (Non-EU students) or
- 1 December to 1 March (EU students).

When applying for the Master’s study program Informatics and Business M.Sc., please make sure to choose the suitable application procedure for you. Applicants from Germany and the EU countries (including Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) should apply via the university portal. Applicants from Non-EU countries should apply via uni-assist.
International Management & Information Systems M.A.
Application for Summer Semester: 15 July to 15 October (Non-EU students) or Beginning of December to 31 January (EU students).

When applying for the Master’s study program International Management & Information Systems (IMIS), please make sure to choose the suitable application procedure for you. Applicants from Germany and the EU countries (including Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) should apply via the university portal. Applicants from Non-EU countries should apply via uni-assist.
International Management and Information Systems – Online M.A.
Application for Winter Semester: 16 November to 31 July (Non-EU students) or Mid-May to 31 July (EU students). Please note: The application deadline for German citizens and persons of equivalent status has been extended to 31.08.2025!

Every first Monday of the month, we offer a Drop-in consultation with English-speaking counselling via Zoom. If you are interested in studying at Fachhochschule Südwestfalen, simply drop in without making an appointment within the specified period.
