Summary
The part-time Master’s degree course in Applied Artificial Intelligence (M.Sc.) at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences is designed for trainees and full-time employees. In addition to self-study phases, which form approx. 70% of the course, there are also regular on-site learning phases with required attendance, which amount to approx. 30%.
The curriculum covers key AI disciplines, including AI foundations, programming, systems software, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, data analysis and ethics/fairness in AI. Electives include cloud computing, intelligent systems and AI law. There are hands-on components such as project seminars and laboratory-based exercises, culminating in a Master’s thesis and an oral defense in the final semester.
