Summary
The Bachelor of Science in Media Informatics is a full-time degree course at Hagen campus. It covers the areas of media production, media design and web applications. The curriculum comprises core modules in programming, databases, web technologies, software engineering, IT security, multimedia production, human-computer interaction and design basics - supplemented by electives. Throughout the course, practical relevance is emphasised: in the sixth semester, students work on a media project; in the seventh semester, they undertake project work and attend a seminar, followed by a Bachelor's thesis and colloquium. The course concludes with a final project and thesis, combining technical and creative skills.
Graduates are qualified for various positions at the interface of technology and media in film or video studios, in publishing houses or broadcasting companies, in the event industry at trade fairs, in museums or in the theater, but also, for example, in the automotive industry as experts in modern usability concepts such as augmented reality.
