Systems Engineering and Engineering Management M.Sc.



To apply for the “Systems Engineering and Engineering Management” please make sure you are in the right category as an applicant. You will be considered as an EU applicant if you have completed your Bachelor's degree at a German university, or you are nationals of European Union countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
As a non EU-applicant, you have to apply via uni-assist. On behalf of its member universities, uni-assist checks which entitlement study applicants have to study in Germany based on the guidelines of the Central Office for Foreign Education – ZAB. Providing this type of expert opinion is uni-assist's main task. Most universities also entrust uni-assist with checking further criteria, either formal or dependent on the course of study. If an applicant is entitled to study and fulfils all of the university's application requirements in full and on time, uni-assist will forward their application on to the university in electronic form. The university alone will then carry out the selection and admission process and issue letters of admission and rejection.
EU-applicants can apply directly via the FH SWF online portal.

Entrance Requirements

The necessary qualification for the study course Systems Engineering and Engineering Management has to be proven by

  • a degree (bachelor or diploma) in a course of studies of at least seven semesters
  • or a bachelor´s degree in a course of studies of six semesters PLUS one semester of additional qualification according to the conditions of the Board of Examiners. Enrolment at the Fachhochschule Südwestfalen during this additional qualification is limited to one semester,
    • Proof of English language has to be testified by a TOEFL/IELTS test in which at least the following points have to be obtained:
      • 575 (Paper based)
      • 232 (Computer based)
      • 90 (Internet based) or
      • IELTS: 6.5
    • Proof of ability: the ability for the master course is considered as adduced if the applicant has completed the previous mentioned course of study (bachelor or diploma) with a good result (at least comparable to the German grade "Gesamtnote Gut").
